“I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine” Song of Solomon 6:3
When she walked around the corner of the rose bush on her father’s arm – the look of pride on the man’s face that brought her down the aisle was beautiful but for any that bothered to steal their eyes from the gorgeous bride might have seen the same look of pride on the Groom’s face. With a smile her father kissed her on the forehead and put her hand into the hand of another man with the ease of know that he would take care of her for always.
I’m sitting here long after this wedding and I’m still smiling. If you want to know what a family that exudes pure sunshine looks like – it’s these two families. The Mackenzies and the Groots – i think when you see how well these two families get a long it really makes you believe in something more than just fate. Not only are Courtney and Caleb themselves soulmates but their families seem destined to be intertwined. It always helps on a wedding day if I know the family and in this case having shot Courtney’s brother; Travis’s wedding last year certainly helped with the knowing of the Groot side of the family but I also got the chance to meet Caleb’s parents at their engagement session which we did part of on their property. Both families have jokesters (ahem *cough* otherwise known as Father’s or in “some” people’s case “Fabio”), strong yet gentle Mother figures and incredibly supportive siblings. It was a treat to work with everyone and I was even tearing up at some of the kind words they had for me and especially during the beautiful prayer that Alison delivered for Courtney and Caleb before dinner. It was a blessing to be invited back in to watch the union between these two – a match truly made in heaven. Their faith in the lord, their love for each other and their strong family support system is the kind of stuff forever is made from. I wish you two the best in your life’s journey together… Check out the gallery of images from their beautiful day.
