I truly believe that setting really helps convey emotion better than anything else. I still remember that scene with Ross and Rachel from Friends where she’s mad at him and he requests a song on the radio to apologize to her. There she sits, covered in a blanket beside a big window where we see rain falling down – a stormy day to match her broken heart. It’s one of the reasons I love shooting engagement sessions close to sunset. Yes, it’s the golden hour but the tone of the light and what it does isn’t just magical – it’s got it’s own warmth and energy. Ashley, Kenny and I ventured out to Balls Falls yesterday to walk around in some of this gorgeous light and take their engagement photos and I’m so glad we went at the time we did. I truly feel like the photos radiate the couples love and I’m so excited to be shooting their wedding this August. Thanks again for a great evening you two and now on to the photos!
