It’s been almost a full year since I blogged – since I opened up and shared with you some of the love stories I get to witness and for that I am sad. It has not been so much of an issue with being busy (although that is true) but rather a technical difficulty that was a little more complex to solve than originally thought. Nonetheless, I am still here and I have wonderful stories to share and will take the next couple weeks catching up and telling with words and images all about these amazing people that have let me into their lives – starting with the love story of Leslie and DJ…
902 kms – yes 902 kms is the distance required, at least in Leslie and DJ’s story, to find love. Despite both living in the same small town in Ontario in fact just down the street from each other – it wasn’t until they travelled 902 kms that they met. Both with friends at the Kentucky Derby – both driven by rain into a local bar – their paths crossed and the stars all aligned. When Leslie first inquired with me she put all of that into a lovely email – before I ever had a chance to speak to either of them – I fell in love with their story! It’s the stuff of romance novels and romantic comedies but when we got together for their engagement session I found out that there is so many deeper layers. Leslie brought along her two daughters from a previous relationship – two beautiful little girls and to see how much they loved not just their Mom but also DJ was incredible. It was as if everyone had come together seamlessly and I just knew it was going to be a great wedding day. Leslie shared that they were going to return to the Derby with their wedding theme and the biggest aspect was doing the photos at a local stable / farm. The day was warm (to say the least), the horse fairly cooperative (when it wasn’t trying to eat the flowers lol) and the love between everyone was something beautiful to behold. Not only do Leslie and DJ love each other and their daughters, but are loved and love in return by their families and friends with a faithful and steadfast love. The day couldn’t have gone better and I am so happy to share these images with you ….
