WELCOME TO MY BRAIN…

She was on the edge of tears all morning, it wasn’t the first time I saw her cry, she had been moved to tears at our first meeting which is when I knew I had encountered a kindred spirit – someone as sensitive as me. I think sometimes I feel things so easily for other people and can place myself in their shoes in a heartbeat and when I met Ashley and her Mother I knew I had met two people like me and I was smitten. I was overjoyed when Ashley contacted me to book and even further excited after our engagement session when I met Steve and found myself just as smitten with them as a couple.  They are truly genuine, head over heels in love, kind and generous people and being a part of their wedding day was something I have been looking forward to for some time. Not only do Ashley and I have the same sensitivity – we also share similar tastes. I knew that her wedding would be gorgeous and I have wanted to shoot a wedding at Southbrook Winery for some time and let me say my expectations of this wedding were definitely met. As I had a moment alone with her that morning I told her that I understood why she was holding back the tears but that I wished nothing more than for her to live in the moment of the day and not deny herself any of the relishing of the emotions. I wanted her to embrace her tears (pretty or not) and live in each second of the day and all the love that would surround them both. As Ashley came down the aisle she had already started tearing up, Steve looked bewildered at his luck and parents all around looked on in bittersweet happiness for their children. I witnessed people so present in the moment and enjoying every second and it was simply beautiful to be a part of. I don’t know if my words contributed at all but I really enjoyed watching both Steve and Ashley just enjoy the day, each other and their families. They embraced each emotion and let the good wishes of their families and love for each other fill their hearts. I had to sit on my hands this week in not sharing these photos but I totally understand Ashley & Steve wanting to see them first. Thanks again to Precious and Eva for your help with this wedding now without further ado …
