WELCOME TO MY BRAIN…

We got in the door very late last night (or should I say this morning) and cuddled our babies right away. Both Bryan and I missed them very much this past week while we were away enjoying the wedding celebrations for Dan and Crystal. Being away for that long was hard but two people who are so awesome and who have families and friends that were so welcoming and beyond friendly to us, made it worth it. I have never been a part of a wedding like this and I am sure that I never will again. To say that it was one for the books and will go down in history for all the people who attended seems to be an exageration but trust me when I say it doesn’t even begin to cover it. In fact for the first time words might fail me. This week was about families coming together, two lives joining, and a huge celebration to commemorate this momentous occasion and let me say the Whitfield, Hanley, Maurer (et al) crews all knew how to party. In fact if I didn’t have the photos to prove half of what went down then I’m not sure I’d believe it. To be fair I will break their wedding up in two posts so that I don’t overwhelm you with photos and also because the party was so crazy that it deserves its own blog post entirely.

Dan and Crystal decided to get married in Jamaica because they had a great deal of family that would already be travelling and wanted to go somewhere that a good portion of them hadn’t been before. They were determined to not have it at a large resort as they wanted somewhere with a more intimate feel where all of their family and friends could easily see each other and socialize and they also wanted to be the only wedding at the resort on their special day. Choosing Coyaba resort was a good decision, I have to say the staff and service all around was amazing – the food was excellent and the whole experience really was enjoyable because of their attention to detail.

The weather was warm (umm I mean HOT) and the day was relaxed – you could see the good wishes for this couple by everyone there as it was written all over their faces. As Dan and his best man awaited Crystal they shared a laugh, and as she finally rounded the corner and came through the trellis entry way before the aisle – Dan was smiling and holding back the tears. Both Crystal and her father radiated light and it was just so beautiful to watch everyone just be so incredibly happy. Everyone at a wedding looks happy normally but it was a tangible feeling radiating out of everyone there in a way that I felt privileged to behold. I can’t wait to share these images so here we go – here is Dan and Crystal’s wedding – part 1 ….

Crystal’s cousin Ashley brought their Grandmothers ring on the trip as a surprise to Crystal; it was to be her something borrowed on her wedding day and was a gift of love so that Crystal would still have something from her by her side as she was not able to do the trip

Isn’t Crystal’s Dad adorable? Eddie you are one of a kind and your face when you saw Crystal was just perfect…

Can’t wait to post the photos from the reception and from their trash the dress but I have to get reacquainted with the cold first!
