When Heather contacted me just a few short months before her date I was surprised at the short notice but delighted that I could be there to capture the day. She described an intimate wedding at a venue in the area I have wanted to photograph at for a long time. The day was windy and warm but beautiful – the venue gorgeous and the sweetness between these two effortless. There day was a perfect example that the best weddings aren’t always with a ballroom or venue packed with hundreds of guests, a big pouffy gown and lots of bling. Don’t get me wrong those weddings are lovely too but weddings have changed so much in the last 15 years – there is no “standard” anymore and it has allowed this incredible space for couples to define what is important to them. A big party or a wonderfully intimate celebration – I’m down for all of it as long as love is at the centre and it totally was at their wedding. A celebration of each other and their shared Irish heritage – Peninsula Ridge was the perfect backdrop. Thank you again to both of you for having me as part of your day, for sharing laughs with me and for your openness to whatever I suggested. The pictures turned out fantastic and I hope you love them as much as I do…
