WELCOME TO MY BRAIN…

In the days after your first child is born, people visit, coo over your baby and tell you to enjoy the days when they are so little because it goes so fast. I tell my bride’s the same thing about their wedding day and yet I don’t think those words really sink in until your living it. When I look at Nate I feel like I held his tiny hand and rocked him to sleep only yesterday and yet when I blink my boy is running, jumping and dancing around with a zest for life that has me breathless. His smile is like the sun and I can’t wait to see him every morning and re-experience life through his eyes. Being a mother is so fulfilling, it’s beyond any words I could use to describe it. I love watching him play cars or when he peeks around my laptop screen to see what Mommy is doing – he has this funny way of just stealing my heart by randomly yelling my name. MAMAHHHHH – in the middle of his lunch, mamamamammamamamamamama as he plays with his toys or my favourite Mama? Mama? Mama? when he can’t see me and is trying to find me. I know it’s been awhile since I posted photos so here’s some updated ones!

We had Nate’s first birthday two weeks early as we were going to be out of town the weekend of his birthday. All of our family and friends came out to Memorial Park here in Welland – we had a bbq and the kids ran around and we all tried to avoid the bees. It was nice to have so much family around and thanks again to Debbie for such an amazing cake! Our favourite nickname for him is Nator Gator so we went with an alligator cake and it turned out great.

Here’s a photo of everyone that came . . .

While we were away we took some photos of Nate on his actual birthday to celebrate our little man

The next couple are from a gorgeous fall day at the park with Nate and Bryan

Every year we go to the pumpkin patch with Nate and our friends Tina and RJ who have a son around the same age as Nate

We dress them up in their halloween costumes and take a few photos amongst the pumpkins – it’s cool to see how they react to the pumpkin patch now that their older and able to interact with the different activities.

Nate the alligator chasing Tavish the Gorilla 🙂

I wish I could describe the noise Nate makes when he makes this face – we compare it to a pterodactyl and quite often I call him baby dinosaur 🙂

I realized a couple weeks ago that I hadn’t taken any updated photos of Nate – I feel like the winter time and the move into the new house just before Christmas took some time to recover from. After some poking and prodding by Bryan I finally took some cute photos of the little guy – some are him on his own and some are him with his cousins Liam and Mila. Mila and Nate are only about a month a part in age and they are thick as thieves.

Ok OK I know I am biased but look at that face! I love this face so much!

Thanks for letting me share my little guy with you

Wishing you friendship and love,

Amanda
