Nine long years, years of growing, maturing, and milestones. As the minister said at the ceremony “It’s about time…” and this past Saturday it was time. Jamie held her fathers hand down the aisle – nervous; but not about Dan but rather because all eyes would be on her. Only one set of eyes mattered; Dan’s – and his face as she came down the aisle was priceless. So sweet together these two made their day perfect for who they are and what they wanted it to be about and as they were about to embark upon their journey back down the aisle Dan reached over and squeezed Jamie’s hand that was already linked through his arm – just a private little celebration for the two of them. No wedding party – just close family as witnesses but the chapel was full of their loved ones. No grand entrance or seating plan – just a beautiful setting for their close friends and family to have a great time and enjoy the night. It was such a beautiful day full of gorgeous light and I truly had a wonderful time capturing their love. I had the lovely Morgan Falk along as my second shooter and we were bouncing around by the end of the day as we were both excited and joyous after such a beautiful day. Thanks to Jamie and Dan for choosing me for the honour of capturing your special day – Balls Falls was where I got married and is near and dear to my heart. I wish you many years of happiness but know that you will stick by each other through any kind of weather.
On an even more personal note I’d like to preface these images by saying that I am SO proud of them – I am always happy with what I shoot but if it makes sense my soul is happy with these images. My heart has a way that it sees things and what it wants to capture (and then process it) and that doesn’t always line up with what the industry wants but my clients love these types of images the most in the end. These are images of feelings and things that I with all of my life experience that I would want captured. I hope you enjoy…
Happiness, joy and anticipation – all written on her face
Stairwells are my favourite – marriage is a journey – your wedding day you embark down the stairs and down the aisle as a single woman and then when the ceremony is complete you have sworn yourself body and soul to someone else.
Jamie’s face as she looks to her Dad for reassurance in the moments before her walk down the aisle are so special to me
It looks like she literally took his breath away…
The first kiss is many things and different for each wedding – this one to me is a complete surrender
This is the moment I was talking about – he reached over and squeezed her hand – so much love in a simple gesture
The Bride and Groom with their witnesses
“On this journey – I promise to hold you in my heart forever”
It was so fortuitous that the little sand flies were out for sunset – created some pretty spectacular effects as the light danced behind them
