In every wedding I attend I see so many stories I want to tell – I aim my camera, fire and fervently hope that the image I am capturing can portray exactly what I want as the day unfolds. I watched as she walked down the staircase and for a change – instead of her father waiting at the bottom of the stairs – her groom was waiting for her. His eyes alight the moment he saw her in her dress you could tell he was so happy to see his beautiful bride. Watching Andrew and Mai together is to be in the presence of something so pure and rare. It is difficult to find words to describe what I mean but I guess the best way is to describe the images that are engrained in my mind when I think of these two. I see Andrew waiting expectantly at the bottom of the stairs – breathing out at the sight of Mai as if it had been difficult to be away from her, I see Mai smiling and excited and embracing life with such a joyous enthusiasm that it’s infectious, I see the two of them walking into the church – choosing to come down the aisle together, and most of all I see Mai weeping tears of happiness during her speech, doing her best to speak English and do justice to how much she loves Andrew, her friends and especially Andrew’s parents, finally, I see Andrew looking down at his new wife a quiet smile, and his arms around her – squeezing her gently to know that he is there – he will always be there because that is the promise he has made today. These two have found home within each other and it’s beautiful to behold – I just hope I did you justice. Congrats again! Now before I get any more emotional – here’s the photos ….
Andrew’s family have a gorgeous home with a beautiful backyard – between there and his brothers barn I was spoiled for choice for photo locations. These next few were also taken at Navy Hall where they had their reception.
Navy Hall is the perfect location for an intimate wedding and the catering by the Charles Inn and the cake from Vineyard Sweets topped everything off. Congratulations Andrew and Mai!
Wishing you friendship and love,
Amanda
