WELCOME TO MY BRAIN…

I met Amanda for the first time at her front door – referred by her friend Toni – I agreed to come out and meet these two at their home in St Catharines. Ramsey was running a little late so the ever hospitable and kind Amanda (great name eh!) offered me some tea and we set about talking. Ramsey finally arrived and he looked a little familiar but I couldn’t place him so I decided to say nothing so as not to make a fool of myself if I was wrong. Towards the end of my time Amanda made a surprised noise and pointed Ramsey out in one of my sample albums – it turns out I did sort of know him – Ramsey was in Tyler and Tanya’s wedding just over a year and a half before. We all had a laugh about this and I remembered him finally as one of the quieter members of Tyler’s bridal party. Something about these two resonated with me – they were both very gentle and quite in their ways but still full of personality. Their home was definitely unique filled with books old and new, and personal items that you could tell had been part of their families for some time. When they decided to book me and then preceded to tell me some of the details they had planned I was definitely looking forward to their wedding. First of all, Amanda told me that she was planning on wearing her Grandmother’s dress – this isn’t as common now a days and I found truly touching. They also opted for a first peak, had a touching outdoor ceremony, and fire breathers and a belly dancer at their wedding reception. Nothing about their wedding day was “typical” and yet the true meaning behind everything in their day was awe inspiring. Amanda had dried lavender bouquets and wore pearls but the wedding parties dresses were totally unique and modern. They did photos in the gorgeous Montebello park in St Catharines but then also chose to go downtown to some of Ramsey’s families properties for a more urban and architectural look. They took a mix of eclectic things that best represented themselves and created a beautiful and touching wedding day. Here are some of the shots from the day!
