So a good photographer friend of mine – took the time awhile ago to explain off camera flash to me – and well I never really had a chance to try it out as I didn’t want to mess around too much on a paying clients shoot. With the time clock ticking down to serious wedding season fast – I asked my assistant Sam to be my subject. Sam has willingly sat for me to take photos of her before but this session is a little more special as her and her husband are expecting a little bundle. So we joyously went out to try the techniques on her belly 🙂 Even if I didn’t know Sam these photos would be pretty close to my heart – but knowing her story and what kind of person she is makes these photos one of my favourite shoots to date 🙂

This one was taken down by the water at Morgan’s point and I kinda wanted to block out a lot of the background and just get Sam and her baby

This is my favorite image and I feel like it’s her and the baby against the world. She just looks so protective in this shot and I love it because that’s how most mom’s are 🙂

Needless to say we had a great time and I can’t wait to get out and do the next series of shots – Sam’s still got quite a few more months in her pregnancy
