As some of you might know my lovely assistant (who has her own photography business) is very pregnant. At 32 weeks with some complications Sam’s very close friend Tracy got married this past Saturday and Sam’s gift to her was her wedding photography, being that things have been very difficult for Sam in the last while (I’ve lost count of how many times she’s gone into labour) she asked me to help her out and after all Sam does/has done for me – there was no question I had to be there to help out 🙂 What an event to help out with too! Tracy and Mike are truly an amazing couple who are as silly and sarcastic as I am (that one was for you Mike). The day was full of laughs, heat, mist from my spray can of mineral water, and love. Thank you to Sam for allowing me to accompany you – it was nice to have the shoe on the other foot for awhile – and thanks to Tracy and Mike for having me along! Here are some of the shots from the day . . .
Mike & Tracy’s invitation and rings
Tracy’s gorgeous dress and shoes
This photo is taken in Tracy and Mike’s new living room – I just loved the paintings they put above the couch!
Shoes in the window!
This part of the ceremony was very touching – Tracy and Mike’s nephew passed away very young and they chose to remember him in their service by lighting the unity candle and then taking it to the altar and lighting a candle at the base of the Virgin Mary in his memory.
This was my first time shooting at Oak Hall – Ran into quite a few people I knew (photographers and wedding party members alike) as this seems to be a very popular place for photos – I can see why – the grounds are beautiful and the buildings are just gorgeous!
At this point I pretty much told the two of them to “kiss the heck” out of each other – and that they did 🙂
Tracy’s dress was so gorgeous and she was a real trooper – with layers and layers of fabric as well as a hoop skirt to hold it all up – Tracy held out in the heat and it really did look stunning!
Whole bridal party out by the willow
Ahh this photo – I had it in my mind as I wanted a relaxed photo of the guys but when I asked them to sit down they all started ribbing me about sitting on the ground in suits – so I decided to wait them out and carry on with other shots – a few more shots in they caved and we got this one – so happy they were willing to go along as I really like this photo.
I’m going to end this blog post how I ended my night – with Tracy and Mike’s first dance – I love the looks on their faces and props to Sam’s mom who held a video light on them for part of my photos! Thanks again to everyone in the wedding party for awesome co-operation and to Sam – Tracy and Mike
